Highly versatile, Sibby played every position except pitcher and catcher. He played for the Boston Bees from 1939 until 1943, when he joined the Coast Guard. After returning from World War II, he spent 1946 in the American Association and was named Minor League Player of the Year. Returning to the Braves “formerly the Bees”, he helped his team reach the World Series. After the Braves moved to Milwaukee, Sibby joined their coaching staff. He then managed in the minors before being hired as a coach by the expansion Seattle Pilots. In 1984, Sisti appeared as a manager in a baseball film, The Natural.
