Considered one of the greatest pitching coaches in the history of the game, from 1979 through 2005 Leo mentored a consistently superior Braves’ pitching staff. Under his tutelage, John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux and a host of others pitched the Braves to ten consecutive division titles. In 2006, agreeing to work for his childhood friend and new manager of the Orioles, Mazzone left the Braves to become Baltimores pitching coach. Unfortunately, both men were let go by the end of the 2007 season. Mazzone is currently a color commentator for FOX Televisions baseball broadcasts.
