Paul Henry Konerko
B: Mar 5, 1976, Providence, RI
Captain of the White Sox, he led the 2005 Sox to a World Series win. In Game 2, Konerko hit the first grand slam in White Sox World Series history. He also caught the last out in all four of the teams wins. At the victory parade, Paul handed the ball from the final out to the teams owner, Jerry Reinsdorf. Konerko was ranked the #1 catcher in the nation during his senior year in high school. After the Reds traded him, the White Sox shifted Paul to first base. He has been a steady power hitter and team leader for the Sox.
