Gary Joseph Gaetti
B: Aug 19, 1958, Centralia, IL
Gaetti won a World Series championship with Minnesota in 1987 and was the MVP of that year’s American League Championship Series. A power hitting third baseman, Gaetti won four Gold Glove Awards for fielding excellence from 1986 through 1989, and was twice an All-Star. He then had productive seasons for the Angels, Royals, Cardinals, Cubs and Boston. On retiring, Gary became a minor league hitting coach before the Astros appointed him to that position for the major league team. He now is batting coach for Tampa Bay’s AAA affiliate, the Durham Bulls. The Twins inducted Gary to the team’s Hall of Fame.
