Salvatore Leonard Bando

A third baseman who captained the Oakland A's in their championship years from 1971 to 1975, Sal led the club in runs batted in three times. He then played four seasons with the Brewers before retiring among the all-time leaders in games, assists and double plays at third base. On retiring, Bando then became a Brewers’ executive, rising to general manager from 1991 to 1999. After baseball, Bando started an investment company and is now CEO of Middleton Doll Company. Bando is widely recognized after doing a voice cameo for an episode of The Simpsons featuring a tribute to the Oakland A’s.
